Parma High School's Centennial Commencement

Principal David Carson is proud of his first graduating class at Parma High.

Seniors owe so much to Counselor Cheryl Morris.  Mike Moore was principal for three of the seniors' four years at PHS.  Daniel and Geo pose here with them.

Seniors congregate just minutes before the commencement ceremony begins.  Bryant & Kimbra were two of many receiving awards, honors, and scholarships.

Take Care! Be Safe!

On behalf of the Association of Realtors, Tracy Kasper presented a check for over $500 so that the seniors could enjoy a SAFE, drug- and alcohol-free grad party.  THANKS SO MUCH!

Teacher Appreciation Week

All week, members of the Parent Involvement Team are heaping appreciation in the form of all kinds of treats on the staff of PHS.  Although they have attempted to keep their anonymity, some parents have been spotted bringing in plates of fruit and pastries, flowers, notecards, writing pads, etc.  The faculty would like to express sincere thanks for such beautiful, delicious, and heartfelt tributes.  What a nice way to wind up another year!

PHS Singers: They SOUND good. They LOOK good.

Let the games begin!

For a while, it was even.

Ski Trip

One way to enjoy our beautiful Idaho weather is with the
annual ski trip to Bogus Basin.

Ben Juarez is in Spain.

Ben dropped in to visit with friends during registration, but he is attending school and enjoying the sights and culture of Spain this school year.   Keep those pictures coming, Ben!

Our Spanish Teacher Sends Us Greetings from Korea!

Mrs. Romero shares a couple of pictures from Seoul.  We miss her and look forward to her return--but wish her a wonderful time while she is there!

We couldn't wait to get started!

Even before the first bell rang, the campus was busy. Girls were practicing volleyball, the guys were at football practice, cross-country runners were hard at it, the band held camp, and everybody registered!

Clear skies, cooler temperatures, and
beautiful sunsets at PHS add to the
feeling that school will soon be starting
again!

More than 300 alumni and friends attend PHS reunion

Superintendent Mr. Jim Norton welcomed the crowd.  The band led a rousing pep assembly!  After the program, some alums looked over the yearbooks from Panther Library's archives.

Members of the band served the scrumptious luncheon!   National Honor Society Members helped out all morning, too.
And so another year begins...

Registration was held all day on August 15th.

ASB officers were on hand to assist.

We welcome back familiar faces and look forward to meeting new ones!

Our new principal Mr. David Carson was on hand to meet, greet, & assist with registration; and as always Mrs. Morris was busy tweaking and perfecting schedules.

A Big Win for PHS

Congratulations to Mark Finley, Coach Riley and the wrestling team for their great showing at state. Mark won the 215 lb state championship in overtime!! The team finished 5th with Evan Miller and Jed Ferguson placing second, Randy Riley placing fifth and  Kieran Riley placing third.
Asked what it took to achieve this great victory, Mark replied, "Hard work.  Hard work.  Hard work."  He also gave credit to his teammates for encouraging him all the way.  His answer to what lesson others might draw from his achievement: "Never give up."

They enjoyed a fun program, a great dinner, and some fabulous quality time together.

Mr. Norton is IETA's "Friend of Technology" for 2007

We call him one of Parma High School's BEST FRIENDS!
Upon receiving the news of Mr. Norton's selection and the presentation in Boise, the student body at PHS planned a surprise presentation of their own here at home!
Students lined the halls in the style of an honor guard and congratulated Mr. Norton as he was escorted to the head of the line. The band played the fight song, and the ASB officers presented him with a card, flowers, and balloons. We are so proud of and grateful to MR. NORTON!
