STUDENT EVALUATION

Your grade will be determined by the following components:

           

            Production work                                     70%

            Timed Writings                                       10%

            Class Etiquette &  Participation          10%

            Powerpoint Presentation                      10%

 

Course Content

Production 

The bulk of the workload in this class will have to do with learning how to use the keyboard (the letters and numbers), repetitive keyboarding practice, producing correctly written letters, memorandums, tables, etc.  The following scale will be used to grade each document produced in this course.

 The above grading system is to reflect some of the expectations of the workplace.  Repeated errors are not acceptable in the workplace.  Students will get an opportunity to correct errors for a final grade on each outlined project which was turned in previously to improve his(her) score.

 

 

When turning in all production assignments BE SURE to include the following:  Your name, class period, and the assignment number or name at the top of your work. Assignments will be thrown away IF it doesn’t have a name and (or) no one claims it after holding it for one day.

 

Each day you are absent, you will be given one day to make up work that you missed.  Work turned in late will receive 15% off the final grade.  The following types of absences will have this penalty waived and only under these circumstances may these be made up:  School Activity, Parent Excused, Doctor Excuse, Counselor meetings, and Bereavement.  Students who miss class due to in school or home suspension will not be allowed to make up missed assignments.

 

DOCUMENT FORMATTING NOTEBOOK

 

This will be a standard notebook that you will use to keep track of all returned timed writings, project assignments, quizzes and exams.  You will need dividers for this as well.  Your grade will be determined by the number of completed assignments and how well organized they are. If you are missing assignments (even IF they have been graded) or assignments are out of order you will be deducted points.

 

Your Document Formatting Notebook will have the following sections:

 

1)                  Handouts---(all information provided by the instructor this semester)

 

2)                  Production/Daily Practice

 

3)                  Timed writings

 

4)                  Assigned Papers--(put in order you did them, i.e., revision follows original)

 

BE SURE      STUDENTS WILL CREATE A FILE ON THEIR DESKTOP (AT SCHOOL) WHERE THEY WILL TURN ALL WORK IN THEY WILL BE GRADED IN A TIMELY MANNER.
