Students will fully understand the meaning of the word “entrepreneur”.
Students will develop the knowledge and confidence that entrepreneurship is the ultimate American Dream.
Students will find out that entrepreneurial businesses make up the most important segment of our American economy.
Students will develop their own beliefs about being an entrepreneur.
Students will recognize that many young people, including students, have become successful entrepreneurs.
Students will consider that becoming an entrepreneur is an acceptable career option.
Students will know the advantages and disadvantages of being an entrepreneur.
Students will realize the elements to success and the reasons for failure in an entrepreneurial venture.
IDENTIFYING OPPORTUNITIES
Students will be able to develop their own goods and services.
Students will be able to identify the limitations of the familiar and practice innovative thinking.
Students will be able to define the difference between ESP (extra-sensory perception) and OSP (opportunity-sensory perception).
Students will be able to work together in small groups to “create” three new products or services.
Students will have a better appreciation of their creative potential.
Students will be able to access the marketplace around them more objectively.
GRADES WILL BE DETERMINED BY THE FOLLOWING:
Assignments 25%, Projects 25%, Tests and Quizzes 40%, Final Exams 10%.
Projects • Reality Check Simulation • Investment Game • Business Jeopardy• Brochure
Supplies • 3 ring binder with college width paper • Calculator • Pencil
Projects/Simulation: This will be done using essays, various internet research projects, and powerpoint presentations.
Tests and Quizzes: There will be three tests total. A 3rd quarter, 4th quarter and a Final exam. Students will know a week in advance of test date. Semester Final: Given at the end of each Semester
• If you are absent, you have two days for every absence to make up assignments/tests.
