The Parma Learning Center After-School Program is designed for children who need to be in a safe environment after school, providing both enrichment and educational intervention support for its students. Adult programs in ESL( English as a second language), SSL (Spanish as a second Language), GED (General Education Diploma), are available for our adults. Karate is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays for all ages.

Provide educational programs which are inviting, safe, and challenging for our students; developing in each student, love for learning, self-discipline, confidence, respect for self and others, and a desire for lifelong service in our community.
Objectives
The main purpose of the Parma Learning Center is to build a community of individuals who will strive toward excellence in their educational, personal, and social lives and envision and work toward successful accomplishment of their personally set goals and aspirations. The goals of the PLC are to provide programs that:
- Promote the educational skills and self-worth of each child, build leadership qualities, and develop children’s self-care and esteem through the use of hands-on, experimental, project-based learning.
- Develop children’s personal and interpersonal social skills, and promote respect for cultural diversity.
- Provide help with homework, tutoring, and other learning while focusing on academic skill building and mastery activities in an environment which meets each student’s needs.
- Provide developmentally-appropriate enrichment activities to add to students’ learning, help them develop thinking and problem-solving skills, and spark their curiosity and love of learning.
- Provide a broad variety of enrichment programs and opportunities in the arts, science and service learning; and physical activities that constructively channel children’s pent up energy.
- Provide participants’ families with educational connections, opportunities, and support programs.
- Build relationships between students and their families, and teachers and community partners.
