Each year the Parma Learning Center holds summer school with academic and enrichment activities for students in elementary and middle school grades.
Following the success of last year's summer school, which was held closer to the beginning of the new school year, we have decided to repeat that schedule. This will boost student academic skills for the fall school start and decrease summer busing costs compared to holding summer school earlier in the summer and for more weeks.
2010 Summer School schedule: July 26th through August 12th, Mondays through Thursdays
Breakfast: 8:00 Class starts: 8:30 Lunch: 12:00 - 12:30 Class: 12:30 - 2:00
Please plan your vacations around summer school if your child will be attending. Keep in mind that for some students, their attendance in summer school is tied to the decision of advancement to the next grade level. For that reason, consistent attendance is very important for all students attending summer programs.
Student applications for summer school went out at parent teacher conferences and are currently available from Sheri Faust, 722-5115 x 1671. We look forward to serving your children.
Even if your child is not attending summer school, he/she can take advantage of a free program offered by the Idaho State Department of Education - Apengea Summer Math Blast. For information about this program, click here. It offers free online math tutoring and a chance to win a variety of rewards.
